The beginners diving course is aimed at children who either cannot dive or have limited diving skills, or perhaps have great difficulty in taking off from the poolside fingers first/feet last! |
| The competitive starts course is for those children who can already dive adequately and teaches them the correct legal starts on all four strokes. An extremely important part of the course is instruction on diving safely at the shallow end of the pool. |

Swimmers starting in the water can be disadvantaged, but the club cannot allow them to dive at the shallow end in competition unless they are safe to do so. It is therefore important that swimmers complete the course. As they become older they are in danger of losing their team place to swimmers with the required skills. |

The turns course teaches the swimmers the correct legal turns on all four strokes. While we try to cover all aspects of starts and turns during normal training sessions these courses give an opportunity for in-depth tuition as part of a small group. |
